the ever famous ‘rainbow cake in a jar’ this has been all over pinterest, to tumblr, stumbleupon and back! Supplies you will need: cake batter food coloring clean, dry mason jars (keep in mind a large mason jar will be a large portion of cake) toothpick seperate batter into small bowls, add desired amount of food coloring, and just simply layer and swirl colors in the jar. i believe you are supposed to cook them at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes. basic baking rules apply, always use a toothpick to check that the batter is done. they cook rather quickly, so make sure to keep an eye on them! let cool for at least 30 minutes, then add (extra) frosting and sprinkles of your choice. you can also color code for the appropriate holiday/event. hmm, small mason jar cakes + wedding party colors = wedding favor?
